Rain Boots, Trenches, and Ponchos O My!

Well the week is slowing down, but the rain certainly is not. This week you could find many ladies and gents sporting their Burberry trenches and matching rain boots. Not to mention the over sized umbrellas taking up the sidewalk. Although the rain can be a downer, fashionistas all around Toronto take this to their full advantage and incorporate there outwear into their style. This week I found myself hanging up my very sexy leather biker jacket for a very sophisticated trench coat.

The trench coat is perfect for the long walks to work or even out for dinner, during these rainy days. I have also opted for a poncho! I would never have thought that I would be able to pull off a poncho due to my great 5’5 height. But this year many different lines have come out with different lengths of ponchos so that they look great on everyone and every height! I have been strutting a black thin knit by Vero Moda, and I must say truly impressed with the length and the quality.

Another downer about the rain, is the task of protecting your shoes. Last year I would always splash through the puddles in my super comfortable Hunter rain boots. They are a great alternative and look fabulous with a trench and a poncho. The only downside I would have to admit is the price point of these rain boots $150. Sometimes it can be hard to justify this purchase, especially if your only going to wear them when it rains. Also these boots can be a hassle when trying to get you cute skinny jeans to fit in. On top I found last year that due to the tall shaft of the boot it makes them very warm if you are sitting in class, and planning on wearing them all day.

So this year I was on the search for a reasonable priced rain boot as well as one that sat at the ankle. After a long and well worth search surely enough my girlfriend Catherine found a pair! Dav rain boots, look identical to the black Burberry short rain boot but for like 1\10th of the price! These boots are amazing, they have just a ½” heel that gives them some style and class, and two buckles that help to give the boot and what ever look your going for some edge. The boots are also microfiber lined. This means that the boot will keep your feet dry and warm if you should decide to where them when it gets cooler. The sole has perfect traction so you wont need to worry about slipping and falling when crossing the street, and we all know how embarrassing that is. But the best part about this boot, is that they were only $60! Yes! That’s right ladies and gents $60 at Town Shoes, just unbelievable if you ask me.  I’ll post these fabulous boots, below just so you can all see how perfect these boots are!

So all my fashionistas, how are you staying dry and what are you styling for the down pours in Toronto? Let me in on your rainy day styles!

JBrands and Wedges

With the cool breeze, and changing colors, and not to mention the specialty drinks at Starbucks its hard to deny that fall is here. Finishing up the first month of school and fall I have found myself to be extremely obsessed with all the fall trends. The cool temperatures have made it delightful to start wearing jeans again, and saying goodbye to sandals, well it was long over due. This fall I have been on the journey to find the perfect jean, and look no farther because Jbrand has come out with some perfect fits and styles this fall! After trying on a pair I just could not get enough, from dark denim, to colored twill and the fabulous cozy cords these pants are sure to please. For footwear the best staple boot for this fall would be a wedged bootie. These wedges come in array of different colors and take an everyday casual outfit and dress it up. Not to mention wedges are the comfortable way to wear a heel, and lets be honest ladies who doesn’t love a comfortable heel! So far this season two wedges that I’m sporting to work are a black pair my Michael Kors, and a chestnut pair by Steve Madden. Both are equally comfortable and look great with any look. So ladies and gents tell what look will you be rockin’ this fall?

Style is One of a Kind

Well today is the day, the next step in my journey into the fashion world and my first step in the blogging world.  I love fashion and everything that revolves around it. But I find myself focusing on the styling aspect. Style is something that you can’t learn in school or be taught by one of the biggest fashionistas around. Style is unique and one of a kind. My sense of style could be completely different from your sense of style. And neither one is wrong, but both are 100% right. Working as a stylist, I dress many individuals all with a different out look on fashion. I would consider my style to be very uptown chic and up to date with all the latest trends. I do though enjoy my classic pieces like a structured blazer, fur and the most simple but perfect accessory a chunky watch.
